Made in France - Besançon
A real “Bêtise de Cambrai” made by LIP, the C18 was born from a designer error and corresponds to a squared T18 case. It retains the famous “Churchill” dial and its characteristic horizontal/vertical double sunburst, as well as the faceted hands that are the charm of its predecessor.
A French story
The manufacture of the Type 18 caliber will begin in 1935 just before the 39-45 war. During this conflict, the company moved to the center of France, then to the south, to Valence. At the end of the conflict, LIP returned to Besançon and rebuilt its factory. The "T18" then leaves the workshops. A highly modern caliber with its small seconds counter, an all-gold model was offered to Sir Winston Churchill in 1948.
